President Bush Appoints Members to Unites States Holocaust Memorial Council

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President George W. Bush has named two new members to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing body of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The Council consists of 55 Presidential appointees in addition to 10 Congressional representatives and three ex-officio members from the departments of Education, Interior and State.

Both appointments are for the remainder of a five-year term expiring 01/15/12.

Marc S. Goldman, Boca Raton, FL, is an independent businessman. After selling his third-generation family business, Farmland Dairies in 1999, he has pursued a number of initiatives in culture, business and real estate. He has been associated with several movies and Broadway shows. He is involved with FIRST, a program founded by Dean Kamen, that encourages students to participate in science and technology. He is on the board of Herbal Water and serves on the board of the Republican Jewish Coalition.

Kenneth B. Mehlman, Washington, D.C., is a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Field LLP. He served as the 62nd chairman of the Republican National Committee and was the campaign manager for Bush-Cheney 04. Mr. Mehlman is a trustee of Franklin and Marshall College as well as the Strong American Schools Foundation and serves on the executive leadership cabinet of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Foundation.
